HIS Desire: H.I.S. Series Book 1 by Sheila Kell

I want to start out by thanking Stacy Reid for gifting me a copy of this book, it is very much appreciated! 🙂

HIS Desire, A H.I.S. Novel by Sheila Kell is Sheila’s debut Romance novel! This story is about an FBI agent named Kate, who has attempts made on her life. Jesse the leader of H.I.S. becomes a large part of her life when he makes it his responsibility to protect her. With action and suspense there is not a dull moment in the story. As the FBI and H.I.S. work to find who is trying to kill Kate, romance blooms between her and Jesse. Both with their own issues to over come before they can admit their feelings for each other, they try to keep each other riled up to keep each other a safe distance from the other. In then end, when the killer is caught, we are left with an even bigger surprise that you will just have to find out on your own when you read it because it is too good to share. This Sheila Kell does an amazing job with because she gives no clue as to who the evil minded person is. Although thinking back, it makes sense but like I said you will have to read the story to find out what the twist is.

Now, there is one big thing that I didn’t care for about the story. My biggest thing was that I like to be taken away by the book, to immerse myself in the world of the story. However with this story, I was not able to connect with it on that level. All of the emotions that I should have felt while reading it, I was not able to feel. It was as if I was reading the words of the book but not connecting with them. With these types of novels I like to be floored by the emotions and action coming from the plot and characters. I like the thought provoking that that causes. I may have just been me, but it just wasn’t there.

With that being said I do recommend this book as it is still enjoyable. I wouldn’t jump to read it again but I will plan on reading the other books that follow this story as I am confident the books can only get better.
