HIS Choice: An H.I.S. Novel by Sheila Kell

This is Sheila Kell’s second book and I must say it did not disappoint! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

This story is about a news reporter, Megan, who gets herself in a little too deep among the elite of criminals trying to get to her brother’s killer. In doing so, she is placed into the arms of a would-be criminal, Aj, who, in fact, is no criminal at all. Through a life-threatening adventure, they both find love and acceptance in what they can change and what they cannot and in the end everything falls into place to give the perfect happy ending.

What I really loved about the story was the mystery behind the “Magician”. The author keeps the secret of the identity of the character through the entire story and by the end I was dying to know!  I spent the whole story guessing at who the possible crime lord was and was thrilled when he/she was finally revealed! There was a shock factor to it because they way it played out, the reader would not have expected. The sexual scenes were tasteful and it didn’t overtake the plot like sometimes tends to happen in books like this. Which is a big thing for me, it may be romance/erotica, but it wasn’t littered with sex scenes.

Now I didn’t like the grammatical errors found as they were not lacking and some of them had me pausing to reread the sentence to make sure I read it right. For me, it was a major detraction. Otherwise, I highly recommend this book and I will continue to watch as this author progresses.

Otherwise, I highly recommend this book to all romance lovers. This is a book that I would certainly reread later on.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

And as always, HAPPY READING! 🙂
