Twisted Threads by Kaylin McFarren

Twisted Threads book reviewTitle: Twisted Threads by Kaylin McFarren

Genre: Suspense/Thriller

Rating: 4 out of 4 stars

This is the fourth installment in the Threads series. I highly recommend reading the previous installments before reading this one.

Akira, a geisha turned assassin is given a way out if she only succeeds in one last mission. Find the killer of her boss’ sister, then she could start a new life. Only, she must do it on a cruise liner full of people and prying eyes.

On board the ship Akira must build relationships while trying to figure out who the killer is. The last thing she expects to find on this last mission is love, but love she finds. Devon, vacationing with his Aunt and Uncle, is recovering from his own broken past when he sees Akira.

Together, love blossoms as the mystery surrounding the ship grows. With neither’s future promised, they find themselves fighting against all odds to solve the mystery.  If Akira wants to have a future, she has to solve the murder and protect herself at all costs while still keeping up her guise, no matter how much it hurts her.

Mystery after mystery unfolds in this captivating story. Murder after murder as revenge is sought by more than one person. I enjoyed how not everything fell into place at the same time. Each mystery remained it’s own, the key to each being revealed slowly and methodically. It was fun to guess who each killer was, and seeing who it really was and how things played out as each came to a close.

From the very beginning, the reader is thrown head first into the action. Twisted Threads is a captivating read that grips it’s reader until the end. It had been a while since I have found myself glued to a book and I found it refreshing and exciting.

The flow was a steady fast pace. The characters were well developed and easily relate-able in their different struggles. Each character was unique and had many layers to them. The story over all was well written with very few grammatical errors found throughout. There were a few erotic scenes which were tastefully written.

Over all, this is a book I enjoyed immensely and would happily read again.  With that being said I give Twisted Threads by Kaylin McFarren a 4 out of 4 stars. I look forward to reading the previous works in this series.
